A bus and bus stop in Venice.
Santa gondola race winners.
A lot of buildings on not a lot of land.
Cemetario, the cemetary island.
On the island of Murano. Venice actually refers to a group of islands that were originally much smaller. Fishermen fished in the surrounding lagoon when some rich people thought it would be a good idea to build some foundations and create cities on top of the expanded islands. Murano is world famous for its glass.
Some cool Murano glass works.
A wolf?
Italian bacon and gorgonzola pizza. I had to. This was very, very good.
The first day in Venice, we also visited the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, featuring a small collection of some very prominent artists she supported in their early careers: Ernst, Pollock, Rothko, Klee to name a few. Also featuring some great works by Tanguy, Miró, Calder, Dalí, and a Picasso. Pretty solid.
